Vehicle 2012 Ford Pickup F150 5.0L
Title Crank but no start, repaired fuel pump fuse.
Complaint Customer states that truck cranks but will not start.
Diagnostic Steps Performed/Parts Replaced Confirmed customer concern. Engine would crank but not start unless we shot start fluid into intake bellows/hose. Module scan revealed multiple codes: P0201-00 through P0208-00 Injector Circuit Open – Cylinders 1 – 8 P025A-00 Fuel Pump Control Circuit/Open and U0109-00 Lost Communication With [FP] Control Module all stored in PCM. BCM and TPM had B10F1-14 Key In Switch – Circuit Short To Ground Or Open -Current. Was looking at Engine Data and all injectors showed Fault and Ignition Switch showed off but was in the On position. Tried one more time before attempting to push the truck up the hill to the shop and it fired up and has been starting ever since. All Current codes gone. Visual inspection revealed evidence of rodent chewing on the foam insulators that cover the fuel rail so we’re going to put the truck in the air and check all the harnesses in engine bay and under truck.
Best Answer From Community Members ericsautomotive and todawg Check the fuse in the under hood fuse block VERY closely. I’ve found the fuel pump fuse half burnt and the box a little damaged as well. Member todawg replied that there is a TSB to relocate the fuse in the fuse box if it is melted. You can get the kit from Ford. Pretty easy to do.
